Every home needs an answer to the question “what shall we do with the children today?”, and at Denemouth the answer is a few minutes up the road.
A proper farm park
Tweddle started life as a livery yard and has grown into a full family farm park. There are goats, alpacas, pigs and plenty more to meet, and children can buy a bag of feed and get close to the animals. Depending on the time of year there may be the chance to help bottle feed the young ones, which tends to be the bit they talk about all the way home.
Rides and play
Alongside the animals there are tractor and barrel rides, pedal go karts, crazy golf and play areas both outside and under cover. That last part matters on the Durham coast, because it means a wet day does not have to be a wasted one. There is a tea room for the grown ups, picnic areas if you have brought your own, and a gift shop on the way out.
Before you go
Opening times, prices and seasonal events change through the year, and the farm often puts on something special in the school holidays, so check the Tweddle Farm website before you set off.
Close by when family visit
It is a short drive from the park, so you can be there for opening and back for lunch. Add the beach, the woods at Castle Eden Dene and a Sunday lunch at Denemouth Bar, and a weekend with the grandchildren more or less plans itself.
Owning a home nearby
It is one of the things that makes a home here so easy to share with family. Denemouth Park is a family run, owners only park at Blackhall Rocks, with homes for sale on the Durham coast, every price shown up front. Come and see how much is on the doorstep.
How far is Tweddle Farm from Denemouth Park?
